    hintcad 3d simulation system is the first domestic mature and professional simulation analysis platform of highway based on opengl technology. users can achieve virtual simulation analysis of highway, safety evaluation, operating speed analysis, space sight distance analysis, landscape and environmental analysis and evaluation etc based on the system. at present, there are many projects which use hintcad for pre-bidding、reporting, analysis and evaluation. moreover, the system has been used for establishing simulated driving environment of actual project by being used in driving simulator (cabin) environment in several domestic traffic safety research institutes.

    based on dtm, the hintcad 3d road cad system (dtm version) can rapidly generate the accurate 3d solid model of ground, road model, side slope, side ditch, guard fence, bridge, and tunnel and so on by the basis of basic data of total design of highway projects.

    using virtual reality technology, hintcad road 3d simulation system can read the above mentioned 3d road model and can draped the satellite color images / aerial digital photos on the ground model, creating virtual reality environment after the completion of highway project, and thus achieving any immersive travel, flying and driving simulation in this virtual environment. the system can output general 3d animation (avi、mpeg formats and so on) for the browsing from different angle and speed according to user-specified path. the system can insert in different kinds of road signs, sign plates, various types of water, grass, trees, houses according to user’s needs. users can carry out mapping for models of side slope, guard fence and so on by using digital photos.

     hintcad simulation system can import different solid 3d model established by other general 3d modeling software (such as 3dmax and so on) utilized by users, and can support massive model data. all simulation analysis and evaluation based on the environment can not be achieved by other similar software.
